The students of Pallapatti Higher Secondary School (PHSS) recently shined at the Karur Revenue District Level Football Tournament for the 2024-2025 academic year, held at M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering. Competing in the under-14 and under-17 categories, PHSS students showcased incredible talent and determination, winning top honors in both divisions.
Under-14 Triumph
In the under-14 division, PHSS defeated Government Higher Secondary School from RT Malayampatti (Kulithalai division) with a clean 2-0 score. The final match was intense, ending with PHSS overcoming Chettinad Rani Meyyammai Metric School from Thantoni division in a close 4-3 tie-breaker victory. This win secured PHSS the top spot and qualified them for the upcoming state-level championship.
Under-17 Standout Performance
PHSS’s under-17 team also made waves. They edged past Chettinad Rani Meyyammai Metric School from Thantoni with a score of 1-0 and won a thrilling tie-breaker in the semi-final against Marist P. Udaiyapatti School from Krishnarayapuram, with a 4-2 score. In the final, they finished second after a hard-fought match against Barani Park Metric Higher Secondary School from Karur division.
This incredible performance brought immense pride to PHSS, with the students receiving warm congratulations from the school community. The PHSS football team now looks forward to representing their district at the state level!
