The Karur Revenue District Level Football Tournament for the academic year 2024 to 2025 was held on 28 October 2024 at M Kumarasamy Engineering College, Karur. The event saw participation from winning teams across five educational zones, all competing with determination and skill.
Pallapatti Higher Secondary School students delivered an exceptional performance in both the under 14 and under 17 categories.
In the under 14 category, our team faced the Government Higher Secondary School from RT Malai in the first match and secured a solid victory with a score of 2 to 0. Advancing to the finals, they played against Chettinad Rani Meyyammai Matriculation School from the Thanthoni zone. It was an intense match that ended in a tie, leading to a tiebreaker. Our team triumphed with a 4 to 3 score in penalties, earning first place at the district level and qualifying for the state level tournament.
In the under 17 category, the team once again showcased their strength. In their first match, they defeated Chettinad Rani Meyyammai Matriculation School from the Thanthoni zone with a 1 to 0 score. In the semifinal, they faced Marist P Udayapatti School from the Krishnarayapuram zone and won in a tiebreaker with a 4 to 2 score. The final match was against Barani Park Matriculation Higher Secondary School from the Karur zone. After a closely contested game, our team finished as runners up at the district level.
The entire school community including the school correspondent, educational committee members, headmaster, teachers, and fellow students congratulated and celebrated the victorious players for their hard work and sportsmanship. Their achievements brought great pride to the school and stand as a motivation for future sports teams.
